Echoes Of Northern Light - Abstract original painting in acrylic by Meeling

Original acrylic painting on stretched canvas (52.5x63.5cm with frame) sold with frame

Echoes of Northern Light emerged from a previous painting that I wanted to give a new expression. Large parts were painted over, while certain shapes and layers of color were allowed to remain. In the meeting between the preserved and the new, an unexpected image grew forth.               From the deep, dark image surface, turquoise and green streaks of light emerge together with light fragments that seem to float between different layers. The contrast between darkness and light creates depth and movement, while a stillness rests over the composition.
